Our Story

Jorge Henriquez Art is a husband and wife team based in Washington, DC.  They met over 10 years ago working at Adams Morgan’s Tryst Café. He worked in the kitchen. She waited tables. They had a meet-cute when she spilled clean silverware all over the kitchen floor and the rest is history.

Jorge is the principal artist and creator, specializing in paintings, illustrations, and photography.  His modern portraits, landscapes, and abstract pieces play with color, texture, metallics, and mixed media.  His style features abstract, fantasy, and surrealism components.  He continuously experiments with various art mediums creating modern, playful, and colorful jewelry and is a self-taught tattoo-artist in search of the perfect apprenticeship.

Jorge’s been making art as long as he’s been able to hold a pen and is entirely self-taught.  His experiences growing up in Salvadoran culture and as an immigrant in our nation’s capital influence his artistic style, which ranges from street art to landscapes.  You can find Jorge Henriquez Art at local art shows, markets, and online.

Cassie is now the principal “back of house” staff, managing the business from behind the scenes.

Outside of the art world, you can find Jorge hand-crafting gourmet coffee drinks across DC coffee houses or skate boarding at the Shaw skate park.  You can find Cassie listening to music, learning about wine, or dragging Jorge to yet another concert.  They live in DC with their dog daughters, Chula and Lt. Truffles.
